It all started innocently enough. Just a harmless prank. Or at least that’s what I was told. Let me start at the beginning.
My name’s Abigail James. I’m a first year law student at Collins University. I guess what started the whole thing was a conversation we had last week.
There were six of us that night. My best friend April, a CU senior studying Math Ed, and her boyfriend, Todd; my other best friend Michelle, a fellow first year law at CU, and her boyfriend Jeff; my boyfriend Tony, a fifth year senior at CU studying Art History; and me. We were just hanging out watching “Ocean’s Eleven” for about the hundredth time, when Todd asked us what our idea of the perfect heist would be. We all laughed, because no one took him seriously, and gave stupid answers like stealing a reference only book from the law library. Then Tony, my brilliant yet incredibly stupid boyfriend, decided we should actually plan a heist and see if we could get away with it. Nothing bad, just something silly, like a prank. We were all just drunk enough that we thought this was a great idea and started planning.
The next morning I woke to the blessed smell and sound of brewing coffee and dragged myself out of bed and into the kitchen. Michelle handed me a cup of coffee as I entered and informed me that Tony was still sacked out on the sofa. I thanked her and asked where April and the other guys were. She said that April was still sleeping and the guys had gone back to their apartment to take showers. She disappeared into her room as I poured another cup of coffee and headed into the living room to wake up Tony. (to be continued)
